FightWell

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 25, 2026

FightWell is a couples conflict-resolution app operated by FightWell LLC (“FightWell,” “we,” “us”) that gives two partners a shared space to work through conflicts together — and privately — with the help of an AI Guide. We take the privacy of those conversations seriously. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

How we use your information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your private conversations for advertising.

Your private chats stay private. Each partner has private chats the other partner can never read. The AI Guide may draw on both partners’ private context to shape its shared-chat replies, but it never reveals or attributes private content to the other partner. This separation is enforced at the database level.

AI processing

To power the Guide, the relevant parts of your conversation are sent server-side to our AI provider, Anthropic, which processes them solely to generate a response and does not use them to train its models. Your AI requests are never sent directly from your device, and our API keys are never exposed to the client.

Not health data under HIPAA

FightWell is not a healthcare provider, and the Service is not therapy or a medical service — see our Terms of Service for details. Because of this, information you share in FightWell, even where it touches on sensitive personal or relationship topics, is not “protected health information” under HIPAA and FightWell is not a HIPAA-covered entity. We still handle your content with the confidentiality and security practices described throughout this policy.

Service providers

We rely on a small number of trusted providers to operate FightWell:

These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy and security commitments.

Data retention

We keep your account and conversation data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account in the app, which removes it immediately. If you no longer have the app installed, see fightwell.app/delete-account for how to request deletion — that page also lists exactly what is removed and what we retain.

Deleting your account also deletes the space you share with your partner, including the situations and messages you created together. There is no way to delete only your half of a shared conversation.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. Depending on where you live, state privacy laws (such as the California Consumer Privacy Act and similar laws in other states) may give you additional rights, including the right to know what personal information we hold about you, the right to delete it, and the right to be free from discrimination for exercising these rights. We don't sell or “share” personal information as those terms are defined under such laws, so there is no opt-out to exercise. To make a request, email us using the contact details below and we will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

Security

Conversations are transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS), private messages are access-controlled at the database row level, and secret keys are held only on our servers. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard safeguards.

Children

FightWell is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if we learn that we have, we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes will be communicated within the app.
